GIVING SOCIETIES

Members of our giving societies enjoy special recognition at United Way events, rewarding volunteer opportunities, frequent updates and in some cases, invitations to unique lectures, special events and exclusive networking opportunities.

 


LOYAL CONTRIBUTORS

United Way Loyal Contributors are among our most dedicated supporters. Members have invested with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas or another United Way for 10 years or more.

This unique group of individuals is strongly committed to improving education, income and health to create lasting change right here at home. In North Texas, there are more than 13,000 Loyal Contributors, over 2,200 of which are also members of other United Way giving societies.

EMERGING LEADERS

Emerging Leaders are a passionate group up-and-comers, 35 and under, who contribute at least $250 in a fiscal year to advance the common good. Members utilize their unique abilities and passions to create lasting change in the areas of education, income and health – the building blocks of opportunity – in the Dallas community, while developing personally and professionally along the way. Emerging Leaders are exposed to a variety of impactful, meaningful opportunities that allow them to first-hand see and be the change for the next generation.

What Can Emerging Leaders Do?

  • Volunteer in a variety of ways to support United Way of Metropolitan Dallas programs and partners.
  • Attend exclusive Emerging Leader events.
  • Network and connect with other young professionals.
  • Learn from and engage with business executives and community leaders.
  • Serve on the Emerging Leaders Steering Committee.
  • Experience first-hand the impact your generosity has in the community.
  • Advocate for what you believe in and make real differences in people’s lives.

LEADERSHIP GIVING

Leadership Giving includes the Leadership and Builders Societies, pacesetters who lead by example, inspire their community, and give at least $1,000 to United Way of Metropolitan Dallas during the year.

As trailblazers in business and philanthropy, Leadership Giving level members lead by example to create lasting change. Their support and generosity puts opportunity in the hands of over one million North Texans each year. And our appreciation cannot be overstated.

Leadership Society Benefits

(For those who contribute $1,000 to $2,499 during the year)

  • Events & Networking: Connect directly with business and community leaders at events throughout the year, including a signature annual family concert for members of the Leadership Society.
  • Family Engagement: Volunteer with your family in the community, including holiday opportunities, and see firsthand the impact of your support.
  • Teens United: Teenage children of Leadership donors may participate in Teens United, an engagement opportunity for teens focused on volunteerism and education to see firsthand the opportunities to make a difference in our local community.
  • Communications: Be the first to know about programs, the latest research, upcoming events, special initiatives, and community impact through the Unite Newsletter.

Builders Society Benefits

(For those who contribute $2,500 to $9,999 during the year) Includes all the benefits of Leadership Society and more:

  • Special Events Access: Connect directly with community leaders at a signature annual event for members of the Builders Society, and special invitations to two Tocqueville Series events.
  • Advocacy Opportunities: Join members of the Tocqueville Society for the annual Advocacy Event – an engaging discussion with elected officials.
  • Tocqueville Graduated Giving: Elevate your impact and grow into a Tocqueville membership. Under this three-year Graduated Giving option, your contributions increase annually until they reach the full Tocqueville commitment. A Graduated Giving commitment is composed of a $5,000 gift in the first year, $7,500 in the second year and a full Tocqueville gift of $10,000 in the third year.

RUTH SHARP ALTSHULER TOCQUEVILLE SOCIETY

The Ruth Sharp Altshuler Tocqueville Society recognizes a select group of change-makers with an unsurpassed dedication to achieving lasting results in our community. Named to honor the late Ruth Sharp Altshuler, a longtime Dallas philanthropist, the Tocqueville Society is comprised of civic and business leaders whose vision for North Texas is matched only by their generosity.

Women of Tocqueville
 

In Dallas, a group of unstoppable women are working to ensure the future of the city they love. These dynamic leaders from all sectors of industry work together to create positive, long-term change. Members volunteer as youth mentors, meet with Texas legislators about improving childcare standards, travel to Washington, D.C. to advocate on Capitol Hill and much more. They embrace every moment and opportunity to empower people in our community to better their lives.
